Great
We found the staff to be so very accommodating and friendly… even the owner chatted with us. Rooms were most comfortable and breakfast was great! Although we were in Bermuda on a personal but party holiday, it was nice to get back to the ‘house’ late at night… no lectures about being bad! Hope the owner gets in touch when she vacations in Nova Scotia.

Home from home
The First thing to bear in mind is the location of Bermuda, in the middle of the Atlantic. Therefore, everything is expensive, especially hotels, so normal prices go out of the window. Here you have a guest house on Hamilton's door step. All the rooms have been refurbished to a good standard and are good size rooms. Like all guest houses the front door is locked at night, but you have your own key, but more importantly there is no old battleaxe here but very helpful and friendly staff, willing to help with directions.

Breakfast is a continental type and self service so you can have as much or as little as you like. Internet access is good, but @ $10.00 US a day. Each room is fitted with showers, no baths, as the bathrooms are small; but as mentioned the main rooms have plenty of space and cable tv.

Location is ideal as you are minutes away from everything. There is a scooter rental a few doors down the road as you are not allowed to rent a car in Bermuda. Do not worry there are plenty of alternatives. There is a good bus service all over the island as well as a good ferry service; best of all reasonably priced. I would recommend getting a weekly pass or for however long you are there, for even better value. They even have Blue or pink posts by the bus stop to indicate if the bus is going to or coming from Hamilton.

You are also on the very edge of town. Only 100 yards away from Front Street, with its many shops and restaurants. There is also a good pub. Just come out of the guest house, turn left and it is just located around the corner, called Robin Hood Pub. Also, close by is another good Sports Bar called Flanagans. It is located right on the Front Street upstairs. I suggest getting there early if you want to admire the view while eating. There are several good places to keep you happy.

One important thing to note, is that most places close down for the winter months, and temperatures could go down to as low as 50 degrees Fahrenheit. I know this is the lowest, as it reached this while I was there, but as i was coming from England and it was snowing at the time. It was still warmer, but you may wish to pack a couple sets of warmer clothes. Enjoy!

Oxford Ladies Delightful
We enjoyed everything about our stay at the Oxford House. We were treated with courtesy by Felicidad and the rest of the friendly, hardworking staff. Requested beach towels were cheerfully fetched. The owner, while not warm and fuzzy, is very businesslike and polite. Our room was clean and we thought the bed was very comfortable. The air-conditioning was excellent-quick and quiet. Breakfast was good-could be improved with some fresh fruit or yogurt, perhaps. The central location was great to explore Hamilton or beyond. The bus or ferry are both less than a 10 minute walk from the Oxford House. We will return.

For the person on vacation, it is close to all the ferries as well as the bus terminal, to go over the island and a scooter rental 4 doors away. Perfect location to Front Street and night life. Close enough but not too close to be disturbed in a quiet area. I was here 5 years ago and had a good stay which is why I came back. Only this time my room had been extensively refurbished with broadband in your room as well as wireless connection, in all common areas at a reasonable $10 US Dollars an hour and with the cost of hotels in Bermuda makes this value for money. This is a family run guest house, with a good selection for breakfast. Most attractions close during their winter time, however the tourist office are keen to keep everyone entertained with frequent tours free, and the ferry and busies cheap and as I mentioned, these are right on your doorstep, only 100 yards away.

Honeymoon
We stayed at Oxford House 47 years ago on our honeymoon June 1959. Over the years we have returned several times to visit Bermuda; once we stared at the Hamilton Princess and another we rented Haycon on the opposite shore with our six children. We plan to return next summer and had hoped to stay several weeks at the Waterloo House but with comparison reading we will stay at Oxford House. It sounds just as charming as it was in 1959.

Great Place to Stay
The Oxford House is a lovely place to stay. I have travelled to Bermuda many times. Most of the hotels are a bit overpriced. But you have to also take into consideration that Bermuda is a small island that gets most of their products imported.

Location: Central to everything (shopping, bus, ferry and restaurants)

Staff: I found them to be very friendly and good suggestions about the island.

Price: A good value for your money. There is a small continental breakfast included with the price.

Overall: It is a good place to say and it saved me money that I used to enjoy other activities during my stay in Bermuda.

Lovely & Perfect!!!!
Mrs. Smith and her staff are just wonderful. It was my first time to Bermuda, and I could not have picked a more perfect location -- walking distance to Front St. (prime shopping & restaurants), buses, high-speed ferry, 24-hour mini mart. Rooms were bright and cheerful, offered tea/coffee service, air conditioning, cable, Internet connection, etc. Breakfast, which could be eaten in the dining room or in the garden, featured a nice assortment of pastries, juices, fruit, cereals, even eggs. The staff was very attentive and helpful, making spot-on travel suggestions and accommodating all of my needs. Mrs. Smith and her staff were especially lovely when a flight cancellation disrupted my travel plans. I look forward to returning to Bermuda and staying at the Oxford House. I highly recommend this B&B for pleasure or business travelers.

The best place to stay in Hamilton
My family and I have been staying at the Oxford House bed and breakfast almost every year for more than 25 years. It gets better every year, and that is saying something. The owner, Mrs. Ann Smith, is a meticulous and attentive innkeeper, and the staff is friendly and keeps the house immaculate. Mrs. Smith has improved the decor each summer we have been there, with new chintzes and attractive antiques appearing in the public and guest rooms as the years go by, and the amenities in the rooms also continue to improve, while retaining the very British charm that the name implies. The location cannot be beat. One can walk in minutes to a wide range of restaurants and shops, and can easily catch a bus or taxi to the beach. The location is quiet, yet guests are within a short stroll of the night life in Hamilton, if that is what interests you. The breakfast is generous and is included in the price of the room. Oxford House has won a number of awards, and has certainly won the loyalty of our family, which looks forward to our visits there all year long. When I came across this website on a Google search, I could not resist the opportunity to write a glowing review to thank Mrs. Smith for so many delightful vacations at Oxford House.
